Delivery of UAV system for marine litter assessment
In June 2016 Triple S provided its expert consultancy services for the successful delivery of an unmanned aerial vehicle for monitoring and assessment of the marine litter to the municipality of Burgas, Bulgaria.
The model features a multi-spectral camera that can be used to monitor the marine litter. The UAV can fly up to two hours with one charge of the battery. When performing a long distance assignment, it can fly up to 50 kilometers.The UAV is acquired as part of the “Marine litter, eutrophication and noise assessment tools (MARLEN)” project, which aims to monitor even the smallest pollution in the Black Sea. Delivery of equipment for conducting research in the marine environment for the needs of the Institute of Fish Resources, Varna, Bulgaria
In 2016 Triple S provided advisory services in relation to the “Enhancing the capacity for research and management of the marine non-fish resources in the Black Sea” (ECRAMON-BLACK SEA) project. The project involved delivery of the following equipment: MARINE PP (pre-processing) – module for preparation of input data, data analysis and presentation of simulation results;
MIKE 21 FM – Module for hydrodynamic modeling in a flexible computing network – Solving hydrodynamic equations in shallow-water conditions in plan (two-dimensional). It is a module that simulates changes in water level, flow rates and water quantities depending on the hydraulic, hydrological and atmospheric conditions in the area studied.
ECOLab – software that processes the physical-chemical and biological parameters for water quality; The main goal is to assess the stocks, biological properties and distribution of some economically important shellfish species, such as the black mussel and the veined rapa whelk in the Bulgarian Black Sea zone, and propose sustainable management measures.
